Our theme this year, Migration: The Human Journey, introduces Florida students to the movement of people across the globe throughout history. This journey includes the reasons for migration - such as economic opportunities, environmental changes, conflicts, and the search for better living conditions. Understanding migration is crucial for comprehending current demographic patterns, cultural diversity, and the development of societies.

For Florida Geo Awareness Week, this theme is particularly important as it reflects the diverse heritage and rich cultural tapestry of the state. We offer a variety of engaging lesson plans and classroom activities to educate students about human migration and it's impact on their community.
